Oaks in general are toxic to a wide range of mammals, including horses and cattle. Although pin oaks have not been specifically evaluated for toxicity to alpacas or other camelids, it would be reasonable to expect them to be potentially toxic to alpacas. Signs of oak toxicity typically include vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms of gastrointestinal upset.
