It's a good detox tonic (especially after eating a fatty or oily meal), and, if fasted on (i.e. eating nothing and just living off of this mix and water) will help mobilize fat and reduce weight. At least, this is the case with just honey and lemon. As for the garlic, it's still an extremely beneficial food item. However, an easier increase in garlic intake would be slow-roasting the cloves. They taste like candy!
