Who were the Liberty League?

The Liberty League was a political organization formed in the United States in 1934, primarily by conservative Democrats and Republicans who opposed the New Deal policies of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. They advocated for limited government, individual liberties, and free enterprise, arguing that the New Deal represented an overreach of federal power. The league sought to mobilize public opinion against what they viewed as governmental encroachments on personal and economic freedoms. Despite their efforts, the Liberty League struggled to gain widespread support and eventually faded in influence by the late 1930s.
