Franklin D. Roosevelt (born Janaury 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York; died April 12, 1945 in Warm Springs, Georgia) succeeded Al Smith as the forty-fourth Governor of New York, serving between January 1, 1929 and December 31, 1932, including the whole of 1931.
