What happends in the end of the book Baboon by david Jones?

Gerry's consciousness leaves the body of the baboon as it is killed by the leopard, and returns to his human body just as it is being brought back to his parents' camp.

The doctors who treated Gerry's human body attempt to convince him that the memories of his life as a baboon were all just dreams he experienced while in a coma, but Gerry knows they are wrong, and that it really happened.
