Maple seeds are blown away from a maple tree on a windy day and spin as they fall to the earth. How could this be an adaptation to help the maple trees survive?
It is not the Maple leaves that spin as they fall. The seed pods are what are spinning. The pods fall away from the tree and some will germinate and grow.
