Is sanskrit necesory for BAMS student?

Sanskrit is not a mandatory requirement for BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) students, but having a basic understanding of Sanskrit can be beneficial for studying Ayurveda as many traditional Ayurvedic texts are written in Sanskrit. However, most BAMS programs offer Sanskrit classes as part of the curriculum to help students understand these texts.
