What does Iron Maiden's Eddie stand for?

Eddie doesn't stand for anything! lol

Eddie was created by artist Derek Riggs as part of the artwork for Iron Maiden's first releases with EMI, Running Free and Women in Uniform and subsequently their first self titled album. It proved so popular that Mr Riggs continued to produce artwork involving Eddie for pretty much every iron maiden release since.

His name comes from a joke going round at the time about Eddie the 'ed.
