- Deduction - you use facts and information to reach a conclusion.
- Induction - you use facts and information to work backwards from a conclusion to create an explanation
- Syllogism - you take two facts which are related, and create a conclusion. An example of this would be: WikiAnswers is a website. Websites contain information. Therefore, WikiAnswers contains information.
- Avoiding fallacy - you look at information and decide whether it is logical and true or not.
