Christianity can be quite different in other countries, or even between denominations within a country. While the basic tenets on christian faith are adhered to by most churches there is a vast difference between the way it is practised by Southern Baptists and Amish Mennonites, while Mormons, Catholics and fundamentalists all have problems with recognising each other as anything more than a cult.

These differences are found within the United States, as well as in other countries, and where those other countries have a majority of one form of christianity that of their neighbours then that can cause conflicts. For centuries European nations suffered wars between catholic and protestant nations, and much of the tension between the catholic and protestant West and orthodox Russia is due to a difference in religion, even though they are all christian.
