Censuses have been around for over six thousand years. It is thought that the Babylonians in 3800 BC conducted on of the first, if not the first Census. The leaders wanted to know the number of people and livestock there was. As well as wool, vegetables, honey and quantities of butter. It is thought to have taken six to seven years to collect all this information.
