Sikhs are free to eat vegetarian or non-vegetarian food. In fact some of the Sikh Gurus were non-vegetarian and avid hunters. The first Guru was offered meat by hunters on his way to Kurukshetra, for which he was lambasted by Brahmins. He wrote the famous couplet "Fools Wrangle over Flesh".

The only meat Sikhs cannot eat is Halal or Kosher (Kuttha meat).
