Were girls allowed in HitlerJugend

There was a girls' section called, called the 'Bund deutscher Mädel' (BdM) - League of German Girls (or possibly 'Lasses'). Note that the Word 'Mädel' is south German, reflecting the Bavarian origins of the Nazi Party (NSDAP).
