What does a conclusion of an essay do?

The conclusion restates your message and makes sure that your point is clear in the mind of the reader when you finish. A conclusion should be a complete paragraph of at least 3 sentences.

A good way of starting your conclusion is using the Word "Clearly." This forces you to figure out what you have made clear through your essay.

Examples of the first sentence in a conclusion:

Clearly, both Romeo and Juliet fail to communicate effectively.

Clearly, panda bears would not make good house pets.

Clearly, my family is quite close.

Clearly, Abraham Lincoln made a real difference in the world.
