What Greek god did the word arachnid come from?

none of them. In fact she wasent a god at all, see its all started out like this..

there was a young lady named arachnid, she was the best at weaving in all of her village, everyone wanted what she made. Her friends were very jelous so they said that the god Athena {the goddes of wisdom} had taught arachnid herself. Instead of being honored, arachnid said that she would have Athena in a corner if she were to face her. An old woman with a cloak on came up and said these wise Words "If you were smart, you would be begging for Athena to forget your Words". Arachnid refused to apoligize, and all at once the old lady turned into the majestic Goddes Athena. Athena took up Arachnid's offer, they both did very well, so it came out to be a tie. Athena got very angry so she said the following "You! You shall be doomed to make tapestry forever! No one will want your tapestry's in their homes!". Arachnid keep shrinking until she became a meer spider, doomed to make webs forever.
