How many miles can a 2004 jetta go with the gas light on?

At highway speeds (75mph) i can drive my 04 jetta 1.8T about 40 miles after the low fuel light comes on before I risk running out of fuel (this brings me completely below the red line). I believe the light comes on when there is less than 2 gallons +/- left. Best bet is to fill your car up right when the light comes on and see how many gallons it takes to fill. Compare that to your tanks capacity (14.5 gallons) and you should be able to calculate many gallons left when the light comes on, then times that by your car cars average mph
