Why the water level in a river falls if there is no rain for months?

The water level in a river falls during prolonged periods without rain due to decreased inflow from precipitation and runoff. Additionally, evaporation can reduce water levels, especially in warmer weather. As water is also drawn from the river for agricultural, industrial, and domestic use, these factors combined lead to lower river levels.
