Meat is an essential source of protein, iron and other vitamins. Like all foods, you should eat meat with a balanced diet, rich in fruits and vegetables. (see food guide pyrimid). If you choose not to eat meat and decide to be a vegetarian, you have to get your protein from other sources such as eggs, nuts, and seeds.
