Who was Cortes missions?

Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador who led the conquest of the Aztec Empire in Mexico in the early 16th century. His mission was to explore and establish Spanish presence in the New World, but he ultimately conquered the Aztecs and claimed their empire for Spain.
