Is H2SO3 an acid base or salt?

H2SO3 ( Sulphurous Acid) as ther name suggests , it is an acid.

Note the spelling of the name, It is the sulphur in oxidation state (IV ; (4))

Compare to Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4), where the sulphur is in oxidation state (VI : (6)).
