How do you smash all of the snowballs in Candice's Gym?

The floor is all ice, right? Slide around, and you'll eventually destroy them all (it takes forever to do it, and you'll face so many trainers, you have to go to the Pokemon center and heal them up and start over again.) But you'll get the hang of it and face the gym leader.
