How do you hook up hoses for water pump on 1977 115hp evinrude?

there are 2 plastic tubes covering the water pump lines in the lower unit.. slide the tubes down so about 1/2 inch is still on the lines, line the other ends up with the pump holes and they guide them right into the pump.
