Where is your ventrogluteal area?

The ventrogluteal area is located on the lateral aspect of the hip, specifically in the region between the greater trochanter of the femur and the anterior superior iliac spine. To locate it, place your palm on the greater trochanter with your fingers pointing toward the patient's head, then spread your fingers to form a triangle with the injection site in the center of the triangle, which is safe for intramuscular injections. This area is preferred for injections due to its distance from major nerves and blood vessels.
