Yes, I normally use a basic cake recipe to make cupcakes, just putting them in smaller cases and lowering the cooking times slightly so they don't over cook.

8 oz butter or marg

8 oz castor sugar

4 eggs

(substitute in 1 - 2 tbsp of cocoa powder instead of flour for chocolate)
