What was the political party in control of congress during lyndon b Johnson's term?

When Lyndon Johnson was elected to the presidency in his own right in 1964, he enjoyed the largest Democratic majority in many years in both houses of congress. This is not so much a reflection on how good Lyndon Johnson was, as it was a reflection on how a basically liberal society at that time saw Barry Goldwater. Goldwater was a conservative. But he was not a foaming-at-the-mouth wacko. However at that time in American history, that is how the majority of Americans saw him. It was a different time.
