Folklore and religion played a major role in African culture. Culture and religion were highly intertwined. Every ethnic group in Africa followed different rituals and ceremonies according to their cultural group. In Ethiopia, Christianity and Islamism prevailed. In Egypt, they were monotheistic and believed in war gods. The people of Nubia also believed in war gods before converting to Christianity.
