Stephanie Baniszewski, one of the key figures in the infamous Sylvia Likens case, faced significant legal consequences for her role in the abuse and death of Sylvia in 1965. She was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison but was released on parole after serving a portion of her sentence. Following her release, she changed her name and attempted to live a private life, largely staying out of the public eye. Stephanie passed away in 1990 due to cancer.
