In most states the answer is 18 years. A few states (Alabama, Nebraska, Mississippi) have higher numbers. The 18 years law is in effect in all of the largest states (California, Illinois, Florida, Michigan, New York, Texas).
In some cases states have a different number in certain circumstances, including graduation from high school, court-ordered emancipation, etc. Some states (Texas for example) allow a 16 or 17 year old to move out and be considered emancipated if self-supporting.
Nearly all the laws with separate ages of emancipation for girls and boys are gone now.
