Who was Paris in greek mythology?

He was the prince of Troy, as in the story of the Illiad. After giving the golden Apple of beauty to Aphrodite, goddess of beauty/love, he was transformed into Menelaus, king of Sparta/ husband of Helen of Sparta, and kidnapped Helen, which started the war of Troy. Later he shot Achilles in the heel with a posion arrow. (Achilles is invicible except in the heel) I forget why but Paris died outside of Troy in a forest. (Also, unlike the movie "Troy" Helen never loved Paris.)
