What influenced the beginning of Renaissance?

Increased trade in Florence Italy was one factor. Since money was so plentiful, it allowed families to higher craftsmen to create art.

Another factor was a renewed interest in learning stemming from artifacts of Rome being found all over the place. The people in Florence were greatly influenced by Plato.
