Are these specs good for a gaming PC?

My laptop is capable to play mid-end games like Sims 3. As I have a laptop, I only can upgrade the RAM which 4gb is plenty for me.

If I had a desktop, I would firstly see what motherboard I have got because I will need to a buy a graphics card which is compatible. Also, upgrade processor and RAM.
