Why do people like to joke around with others?

It is sometimes they are bored and they just want to have a bit of fun but not knowing how it makes you feel. If you are more of a teenager it might be because they like you or have a crush on you. Or if you just listen to reason they are bad and mean. Or they are just borned this way. If they have a problem they might joke with you to keep their minds off it.
