This is one of those questions that I would say is not the right question. Here's why, "worship" has less to do with your/our action than it does with God's action. God speaks to us through His Word through which the Holy Spirit works and creates and strengthens faith, and Jesus, God the Son, gives us His gift of His Body and Blood which we eat and drink "for the forgiveness of sins." It is only secondary that we respond in prayer, praise, and Thanksgiving.

But as to the traditional Church setting, GK Chesterton said something profound over 100 years ago in his book Orthodoxy, "Tradition means giving votes to the most obscure of all classes, our ancestors. It is the democracy of the dead. Tradition refuses to submit to that arrogant oligarchy who merely happen to be walking around." In other Words, to confess that you are part of the Church is to not turn your back on the Church Triumphant of 2000 years. Therefore it's not really a matter of "possible" but appropriate and consistent with the right understanding of the Church catholic (universal).
