Why don't Pashtuns say thank you?

Pashtuns often express gratitude through indirect means rather than explicitly saying "thank you." Their culture emphasizes actions over Words, and showing respect or reciprocating kindness is considered more meaningful. Additionally, saying "thank you" might be seen as a sign of inferiority or dependence, which runs counter to the values of honor and self-sufficiency central to Pashtunwali, the traditional code of conduct among Pashtuns. Instead, they may demonstrate appreciation through hospitality or gestures.
