Where is a pronoun used?

A pronoun is a Word that takes the place of a noun in a sentence. A pronoun is used for all of the functions of a noun:

• subject of a sentence or a clause
• object of a verb or a preposition

EXAMPLES

• subject of sentence: She made cookies for Jack and Jill.
• subject of clause: The cookies that shemade are for Jack and Jill.
• object of verb: Jane made them for Jack and Jill.
• object of preposition: Jane made cookies for them.
