Where did the great flood happen?

1. Rain fell continuously for 40 days and nights.

2. The fountains of the great deep-ocean and land springs-burst forth with a continual flow of water.

I am considering whether an earth-gravity change would "uncompress" esp. the deep waters...this makes for a good possibility/explanation.
