Pay depends on the job. In general, engineers make more initially out of school, but have a lower cap on salary than other jobs. For example, teachers may make about 30-40k, while you can earn 50-60k right out of school. Teachers can become principals or superintendents, and make over 100k, while engineers (without going into management) have a cap of about 100k.
