We always see only one side of the Moon due to a phenomenon called synchronous rotation or tidal locking. This occurs because the Moon's rotation period on its axis is the same as its orbital period around the Earth, taking about 27.3 days for both. As a result, the same hemisphere of the Moon constantly faces the Earth, while the far side remains hidden from view. This gravitational interaction between the Earth and the Moon has led to this unique rotational relationship over millions of years.
