You have a 1989 Jaguar XJ6 all the doors except for the drivers will not open from the outside your repair manual doesn't give a step by step on how to fix this can anyone help thank you?

This seems to be an ongoing problem with this car. Thru reading I found that the handles are easily broken. I found this answer on how to change them on here. I have one that does not work so I am going to purchase one and here is how to change it. This is not a job for the faint hearted. You will need a lot of patients and dextrous fingers. Remove the interior door panels...look into the handle area and spot the 3 small nuts that hold the handles to the door skin..remove and save... locate operating rod clips, release, ease handle out from door, locate loom connectors for lock barrel heater and lock control, they are secured from being trapped by the window in a small clip...... disconnect and remove handle. Reassembly is reverse of removal plus a little more fiddling about !.
