If you are referring to degreed Physical Therapist at entry level, not much. (I would guess $20k-$30k?). Today: It is one of the best ways to get into the medical field and find out if you love it: it IS a calling, you MUST have a passion to enjoy starting the journey (for peanuts). It's not blue-collar trade, where your friends may appear rich (on $50k?). Theirs won't go much higher, increases are slow to come, if at all. 5 yrs: Despite long and crazy hours, if you love the field and its technology, and fixing (some ornery), people, it is a great intro to ensure you get the High-powered connections (References) to progress. Education is worshipped (and often paid for!). As you become recognized, your pay DOUBLES one fine day. 10 - 15 yrs: It will become a VERY highly paid field: the demographic shift is coming *fast*. Medical people seek your experience as a consultant . . . now you're earning . . . get a stock broker. 20 - ?? yrs: You continue to collect University credentials, meet those renouned medical experts on a first-name basis, "today a P.T." could be an outstanding way to get your M.D. at a very low cost . . . or FREE (see Demographics above.) A good choice for 20-somethings with a passion for the field. Hope this helps -Jim Val
