It might mean that the tattoo wearer is in touch with their animalistic side... Or it might mean that the wearer identifies with a Jekyll and Hyde kind of personality.it may also be a sign to other werewolves if they are one.

Another option is based on the theory of a werewolf. Though this is highly unlikely, it's the meaning behind the one I am planning on getting. It's explained for me from "To the Pack he belongs, in solitude he stays." which will be written on a scroll around the wolf. Now, a wolf is by nature a pack animal. It's from the pack that they gain their strength, and through this strength, they can take down anything. Before we invented gun powder. Anyways, a werewolf is a creature of solitude. They live alone, sometimes because they want to protect the people around them, sometimes because they kill anyone they get near. I don't kill everyone I get near, but I do live as separated from those around me as I can be, simply because I have issues connecting with other people for lots of reasons. But I want to be a part of the Pack again. It's lonely outside. That's what it means for me anyways.
