Raven in a dream

According to Parkers' Complete Book of Dreams: The Definitive Guide to the Meaning of Dreams, "Dreams of winged creatures may refer to a need for some form of release in waking life; it may sometimes be symbolic of the freedom to adhere to a certain belief or conviction. A bird in flight often represents aspiration, spirituality and freedom." It further states, "To encounter black objects...in your dream may reflect a feeling of depression in your waking life: about life in general, about a particular area of life, or about someone who is special to you."
