What states fought for the CSA?

The Confederate States of America (CSA) was formed by 11 southern states that seceded from the Union. These states were Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Each of these states joined the Confederacy primarily over issues related to states' rights and slavery.
