What is a IFB?

IFB is an abbreviation for Interruptible Feedback. It is a special intercom system that enables a listener (for example, a DJ) to hear program feedback (for example, a radio broadcast), and permits others at the studio to interrupt the feedback in order to communicate with the person (the DJ) monitoring the feedback.
