Was gannicus a real person

Gannicus was a historical figure who lived during the late Roman Republic and is best known as a gladiator and a leader in the Third Servile War, also known as the Gladiator War, around 73-71 BCE. While he is mentioned in historical texts, much of what is popularly known about him comes from fictionalized accounts, such as the television series "Spartacus." The details of his life and exploits are largely based on legend and dramatization, making it difficult to separate fact from fiction.
