How do you repair a tire with a nail in it?

If the nail is in the middle of the tread it can usually be repaired, if the nail is in the side wall you would need to purchase a new tire because the it will weaken the tire.

If the tire is repairable, you would need to purchase a tire repair kit from your local parts store. These kits include glue,plugs and a special tool that almost looks like a screw driver to install them with.

You would need to remove the nail, clean the hole in the tire, and then insert the plug with glue that was provided with it into the hole.
