What is lyme disease susceptible host?

Lyme disease primarily affects humans and various animals, particularly deer and rodents, which serve as key reservoirs for the Lyme disease bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi. Humans become susceptible hosts when they are bitten by infected black-legged ticks (Ixodes scapularis), often in wooded or grassy areas.
