There actually are only five oceans:
- Arctic Ocean: Covers most of the Arctic and touches northern North America and Eurasia.
- Atlantic Ocean: Separates the Americas from Eurasia and Africa.
- Indian Ocean: Separates Africa and Australia; also touches southern Asia.
- Pacific Ocean: Separates Asia and Australia from the Americas.
- Southern Ocean: Encircles Antarctica and melds into southern Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans.
The seven seas are:
- Adriatic Sea
- Arabian Sea (part of the Indian Ocean)
- Black Sea
- Caspian Sea
- Mediterranean Sea (including marginal seas, like the Aegean Sea)
- Persian Gulf
- Red Sea (including the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee)
