1988 Honda 300 Fourtrax and when cranking it the spark plug will only fire onc at the beginning then stop firng turn key off and try it again same thing?

Sounds like it's starving for gas and that means the carburetor is probably clogged up. That can be a tough job to clean and TUNE a carburetor but not impossible. I taught myself how.
