Did siren song affect animals

It was believed the siren's song did affect animals as in a number of sources - writings and paintings - there was evidence of anima bones and rotting bodies among the rocks along with human bones ect. However it could of been possible that the sirens merely caught these animals them-selves. But a siren's song is meant to affect anything with ears. So animals would count.
